Hair Dressing & Cosmetology Program

The hairdressing & cosmetology program at Capri Cosmetology Learning Centers in New York is 1,000 hours long, and is designed to train students to become professional cosmetologists. The program covers education in hair, nails, make-up, and skin care with the intent of preparing you for the state board exam to become a licensed cosmetologist. The program focuses mostly on hair, but our students can still walk away with a broader set of technical beauty skills.
Our student salon and spa mirrors a professional working environment. This is where our students develop real client relationships and practice their craft on real people. Our optional advanced beauty courses allow students to customize their own educational experience. If you want to take your skillset above and beyond, that’s what these advanced beauty programs can do for you!
Our Hairdressing & Cosmetology program includes education in:
- Hair cutting
- Hair styling
- Hair coloring
- Cosmetic product knowledge
- Manicures & pedicures
- Esthetics (including skin care & waxing)
- Makeup application
- Retailing & customer service

Course Schedules
Our full-time and part-time schedules start every two months
- Day Schedule (approx. 7.5 months) Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Night Schedule (approx. 15 months) Mon – Thurs, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Entrance Requirements
- Minimum Age: 17
- High School Diploma/GED/TASC or Wonderlic Basic Skills Test
